Resembling more of a small ocean cruise ship than a river ship, the Viking Akun carries 210 guests through the rivers of Russia in luxury.
Along with its sisters, the Helgi, Truvor and Ingvar, it is fitted with over 100 staterooms and four spacious suites, and features a substantially “foreign” design to the rest of the Viking fleet.
The Viking Akun features only two areas that travellers can
go to for their dining. While still having the same concept as other Viking
ships, passengers will notice that the areas are branded differently.
First is the Neva Restaurant. The casual elegance of the
Restaurant is a defining point of Viking’s river cruises, providing outstanding
views of the scenery with its panoramic windows and specially prepared regional
specialties on fine china.
Relax with a drink and some conversation with your fellow passengers in the ship's Panorama Bar, an incredibly relaxing place to gather in the evenings for views of the wonderful scenery.
The Viking ships are designed more for the culturally
invested and traditional travellers. As such, there are a number of
demonstrations, cooking classes and dance performances on board.
