Thomson Celebration Reviews

We went on the thomson celebration cruises and it was AMAZING, it realy was 5* star treetment ... the food was excellent and all the staff were sooo friendly and helpful. Two years ago we went on the Norwegion Epic witch is a very modern NCL ship and the Thomson Celabration is miles better- you will never find another ship with such a friendly group of staff. Yes, it dosent have a climbing wall or surf pools but it was amazing we canot fault anything. the ENTERTAINMENT WAS OUTSTANDING the entertainment team work so hard doing two spectacular West End style shows a night, they are unbelievable and have amazing voices and dance skills, you will not be dissapointed.  Don't listen to the bad reviews because that's there opinion NOT yours you, need to try the ship before you judge it...  I'd like to thank Thomson and every single staff member on this ship for making our holiday spectacular. Thank You.

Went on a Red Sea cruise, 31st jan 2013. This was my first cruise and I wasn't disappointed, it was an even better experience than I expected. This ship is realy friendly,the food was amazing and the entertainment was great. I would like tto congratulate Thomson on employing such happy and helpful staff - nothing was too much trouble for them . A special mention for Meridian waiters Benjie and Oliver and Abrhu at the Lido bar. The service of these three guys was tremendous. The staff who book your trips at the destination desk were also fantastic in helping us to decide in which trips to take . The only flaw I could find is that I found the reception staff are not as friendly as all other staff memmbers. We stayed in cabin 219 deck 6; this is an ideally situated cabin and our cabin boy was also fantastic room, with towels always kept clean.

Recently returned from this cruise (Dec 2012). Had the most fantastic time.The ship is currently undergoing refurbishment to become Platinum status in April i believe. We were in the refurbished part and it was beautiful. We ve been on several cruises but this was the first time with Thompson and hopefully wont be the last. We could not fault anything at all. The ship was spotless..the eating area s amazing as was the food..and the staff wanted nothing but to make your holiday enjoyable....entertaiment was top class the only problem being.(if you can call it a problem !) was deciding what kind of show or entertaiment you wanted to see each night as there was someting going on day and night. There was plenty of excursions to choose from only problem here was they did tend to be expensive which hiked the price of the holiday up quite a bit. Would recommend the Celebration and The Red Sea Cruise to anyone.

Went on the Red Sea Magic cruise Feb 2012. Thought the ship was excellent value for money although a bit tired but couldn't fault anything, it was very clean, staff were helpful, entertainment was good, especially like the sailing away party on the first night (although we never managed to sail away until the 2nd night because of weather). I didn't think much of Egypt though, it was nice to see the sights but Cairo was like a large litter bin and there is not much around the ports, you needed to go on an excursion to see anything. Had a fantastic time on the ship though and the food was fab.

Overal very pleased with the cruise and would hapily go again. Plusses - the food was excellent, ship very good, staff very helpful and hard working. Venues changed a bit after booking but the substitute venues very nice so no problem. Only negative was the noise of travelling. Think this was because the cabins were very near the front and we did bat on at night so some loud crashing. No problem for me but a couple in my party had a few sleepless nights. I will book the cabins a bit carefully next time. Overal very good and half the price of the equivalent other cruise lines so we can go twice. 

Went on Thomson celebration in may of this year. Flight was good and transfer to ship was good. we have been on quite a few cruises before sailing with Princess, Carnival and Royal Caribbean, this was by far the best one yet. Yes its a smaller and older ship than the other ones but the service from the crew and staff was second to none. They could not do enough for you and were very courteous at all times. The food was excellent in both the dining room and the lido restaurant. The entertainment was great and there were always shows or quizzes to keep your attention. The destination ports were of great interest and lots of history to discover. We enjoyed it so much we are going back again this month with friends who have never cruised before, combining it with a weeks stay in Turkey.

Had the best time of our lives on this ship nothing was too much bother for any of the crew, clean ship and the food was great plenty of variety, the shows were well done hard working gals and boys ,would recommend this cruise to everyone who has never cruised b4,cant wait to go again. The cabin boys were so good never saw any bins ever filled, was on the Holyland cruise great sites a cruise to remember.

Just returned from 14 day cruise on Celebration to Ancient Wonders and Egypt & Holy Land and will certainly be back. Ratings in all respects (with exception of mould around bath in cabin 218) are all 4 star+. Food was excellent with great choice in both Lido and Meridan Restaurants, all staff helpful and friendly especially in Hemingways, ship was spotless and a varied range of tours at each port visited. Entertainment was varied with some poor shows in Broadway Lounge although Laszlo and Zsoli, violin and pianist respectively, played each evening beautifully in the Explorer Lounge to poor audiences so very relaxing!!! Liberties Lounge was also quite good with excellent band but quiz’s quite dated. Overall, a very enjoyable cruise

Just returned from a seven day cruise around the Aegean, our fourth with Thomson. The ports of call were an excellent choice although we didn't go on any of the organised trips as we prefer to do our own thing. We had a cabin on deck 2 midship, cabins are okay space wise, but looking a little care worn and dated now but kept clean and tidy towels changed daily. The all inclusive drinks package was included in our deal, but service was a lot slower than on previous cruises, the crew were excellent the most friendly and attentive and talented and are a credit to Thomson. The food as always was plentiful, well presented and well cooked and available almost 24 hours a day. Entertainment:the comedian was very good, entertainment team a bit mediocre, daytime entertaiment the usual bingo, quizzes, napkin folding. The ship overall was spotless. A few changes that will be noticed by Thomson cruisers included open dinning times in the meridian resturant (but your steward will keep a table for you at an agreed time) tea served in the Lido buffet resturant and toast readily available at breakfast served till 11-30 for those that like a lay in. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and would recommend thomson to anybody.

Went on this ship 3 years ago and it was very relaxing with no hidden extras. We have since been on Ocean Village 2 ship and it was ok, there is a laundry and ironing room available at a some cost but I must say the bar prices on both these ships where not expensive and there was no extra service charges. We are due to go on Independence of the Seas in may and I have read several statements saying that you get charged an extra 15% charge on your drinks from the bar and you automatically get gratuities added to your bill, we never had this on these other ships
