Nov 24 2019 Yes, this was luxury cruising. Verandah suite is a very large balcony cabin with marble fitted bathroom with twin sinks and a shower too. Top fittings everywhere. Excellent minibar service by cabin staff. Attentive without asking. No tipping sought, either here or anywhere. Dining was just lovely everywhere. The buffet was like a quiet restaurant on other cruises. Spacious with tables always available. Wine choices very good and varied, and readily served. All food requests prepared quickly and with lovely lively staff. Few used the restaurant for breakfast and this was the only let down on the whole 12 day trip. Comedy value was high though. We began counting the number of staff who inspected a food item coming out and trying to decide who it was to go to. With only about twelve tables in use there were plenty of staff and I counted six deciding who got the oatmeal. . Some management needed here, but food was great though. After two days of this fun we retired to the buffet and were just amazed at the quality, calm, and efficient experience. Evening restaurant dining was top quality also. Choices and service were great and the frequent opportunities to join a hosted table gave us many social evenings too. With only 400 guests we were often alone on corridors, lifts and in quiet bars. The afternoon tea was wonderful with food choices better than Cunard and the service was more attentive and personal. Many nice touches everywhere. The Square with daily newspapers, in full, available printed. fresh macarons every evening, wonderful coffee almost anytime. Staff to sort out your wifi problems and remembering your name for the rest of the cruise. Lovely lovely trip. Carambola beach with champagne and caviar in the surf - magic. The banana boat only a bit less so, though apart from the embarrassment of trying to get back in to the towboat, that was very jolly too. We met several people for whom this was their first cruise and they will struggle to appreciate others. We had been on about 10 cruise lines before, and Seabourn was in a different league. Yes it was expensive, but I will remember all of it fondly, and I do think it was worth the money. I would go again without hesitation. Saving already and I think we may cut down on lesser trips.

Excellent cruise in excellent (apart from Ketchican) weather. Well looked after. Very small matter not good - wife ill one evening - we asked for hot milk and toast to cabin - milk barely tepid and toast soft/damp. Main disappointment is flights home - if Iglu responsible, read on - if Seabourn responsible, please forward! We were routed from Anchorage to Denver to Toronto to Glasgow. Anchorage to Denver on United Airlines, old and very cramped plane, uncomfortable seats. Long wait in Denver. Then reasonable plane Air Canada, to Toronto, but 1 x hour late in leaving. Still long wait in Toronto, then reasonable flight Air Canada Rouge to Glasgow. However, no cases arriving at Glasgow, and still no cases 28 hours later! Not happy - spoiled any good feelings about cruise.

Nice friendly ship but the biggest let down is the inconsistency of service and the quality and temperature of the food being served. When asked for meat to be “well done “ you do not expect blood in excess to be coming from the meat. This happened on several occasions. Food was often served warm on a red hot plate which still doesn’t make the food hot. All of this was brought the the ships attention but continued over the course of the cruise Hand towel on one occasion had holes in. Plus side of ship, great coffee and fantastic service in the square, entertainment better than some top London shows. Suites very large and comfortable. Fantastic complimentary room service. The Thomas Keller Grill served excellent food.

DAY 5
Puerto Rico’s capital city, largest urban area and cultural hub, boasts a myriad of things to do, see and taste for a true sense of all Puerto Rico has to offer. In the old city you'll walk the cobbled streets of the colonial Spanish architecture as well as the impressive defensive works of El Morro and La Fortaleza, dominating the skyline and boasting equally stunning views out of the city and coastline themselves.

El Morro and La Fortaleza
Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, La Fortaleza was built between the 16th and 20th centuries with the aim of protecting the city of San Juan. It has been a fortress, a prison and a residence, and is open for visitors to explore during the day.
Castillo San Cristóbal
In San Juan, there is a fort called Castillo San Cristóbal. The Spanish constructed it to defend San Juan against land-based assaults. Part of the San Juan National Historic Site, it's arguably the greatest fortification erected by the Spanish in the New World.
The Poet's Passage
The writings of local poet Lady Lee Andrews are shown at this store, art gallery, and cafe. A lot of aspiring poets attend the regular open-mic sessions; making it a unique place to visit during a trip to San Juan.
Carambola Beach, St Kitts
DAY 6
Carambola Beach is home to a variety of vibrant restaurants and beach clubs, alongside watersports. A popular cruise stop off in St. Kitts, from Carambola Beach you can head to Brimstone Hill Fortress (a prominent UNESCO World Heritage Site), the scenic railway and Romney Manor.

Brimstone Hill Fortress
Dating between the 17th and 18th century, Brimstone Hill Fortress is situated on a hill in St. Kiss. Designed by British military engineers, this historic fortress offers the perfect day out for those wanting to immerse themselves into the history of the area.
Romney Manor
One of the top sights in Carambola, Romney Manor is a set of historic plantation estate houses. Within them, you can learn how to create tie-dye clothing. An extraordinary attraction, the picturesque Romney Manor makes for a unique day out.
Scenic Railway
Spanning 29 kilometres, the St. Kitts Scenic Railway is a popular narrow gauge railway line. Hop on this incredible railway and enjoy all of the picturesque scenery throughout St. Kitts. Completed in 1926, it the journey takes just over 3 hours.
Bridgetown, Barbados

The vibrant capital of Barbados, Bridgetown is located on the southwest coast. With beautiful architecture, beaches and numerous attractions to visit during your time there, Bridgetown is guaranteed to impress. From the prominent George Washington House, to the Chamberlain Bridge and Parliament Buildings, you won’t be lost on things to see and do in this picturesque city.

George Washington House
Step back in time to 1751 as you explore this fascinating attraction. Once home to the first president of the United states, it’s a dedicated World Heritage Site. Giving an insight into what life was like in the 18th century, this is a must visit for anyone who has an interest in American or Barbadian history.
Chamberlain Bridge
In the heart of the city lies the Chamberlain Bridge. Originally a 19th century swing bridge, and now a lift bridge that was constructed in 2006, it offers picturesque views out over the waterfront and situated close to the popular Bridgetown boardwalk.
Parliament Buildings
An important landmark in the city, the Parliament Buildings are built in a gothic architecture. Featuring stained glass windows, a clock tower, the National Gallery and more, it makes for a fascinating visit whilst stopping off in the capital.
Recife

A bustling city that’s the fourth largest of its kind in Brazil, Recife is known as the ‘Venice of Brazil’ due to the amount of bridges that are situated around the city. With a rich Portuguese heritage that dates back to the 16th century, the architecture throughout showcases this heritage, including colourful houses and historical landmarks. Top attractions in Recife include Marco Zero Square, the Capela Dourada catholic church and Boa Viagem Beach.

Marco Zero
An impressive square in the heart of the city, Marco Zero Square is surrounded by historical landmarks, restaurants and more. With a colourful floor and buildings, it’s often the first place visited by tourists who are stopping off in Recife. Throughout the year, Recife is also host to several cultural events and concerts.
Capela Dourada
Constructed between 1696 and 1724, the Capela Dourada is an impressive catholic church that boasts awe-inspiring murals, shrines and other breathtaking features. A must see when in Recife, this historical church has some of the largest quantities of gold in the world.
Boa Viagem
Stretching 7 miles, this beautiful sandy beach is surrounded by buildings and boasts white sands, crystal clear waters and is one of the most visited beaches in the country. Rio de Janeiro

With an impressive population of nearly 7 million people, Rio de Janeiro is a bustling seaside city that’s known for its iconic attractions, including Copacabana Beach and the 38-metre tall Christ the Redeemer statue which stands atop Mount Corcovado. Not only is Rio de Janeiro known for its attractions, but it’s also host to the yearly Carnaval festival and is home to dozens of mouth-watering restaurants and street food. Alongside Copacabana Beach and the Christ the Redeemer statue, another must see in Rio de Janeiro is Sugarloaf Mountain.

Copacabana Beach

Christ the Redeemer
Constructed in 1931, this extraordinary statue depicts Jesus Christ in an Art Deco style. Created by Paul Landowski, a renowned French sculptor, it’s an incredibly popular attraction to visit whilst in the city. Overlooking the city, it can be seen from several areas of Rio de Janeiro and makes for a great photo opportunity.
Sugarloaf Mountain
One of the highest peaks in the city, located at the start of Guanabara Bay, the peak of Sugarloaf Mountain can be visited by cable car. Sitting at a height of 396 metres, the views you’ll get from Sugarloaf Mountain will take your breath away.
