Summary: Arriving at a Cunard ship is always impressive, they are the most elegant ships on the market and you feel proud to be boarding her. Check in at Rome was seamless and I was on the ship in less than five minutes. By the time I made my way to the cabin (within 30 minutes) my bags were in the room waiting for me. I had a balcony cabin on deck 4 (4143) which was quite close to the lifts (I heard no noise at all) and had slightly larger balconies than the cabins on higher decks.

I would highly recommend the cabin because of this - I have never been so low down before on a ship but I loved the fact that I could see the waves below me as we moved and despite being close to the aft of the ship I felt no vibrations or engine noise. The food was spectacular - we tried the Verandah restaurant one evening and it is well worth the cover charge (the monkfish melted in your mouth). The main Britannia restaurant was also excellent - I loved breakfast in here (Im not a fan of buffet breakfasts) - they had perfectly cooked eggs benedict on the menu which is my idea of holiday heaven. The facilities were all perfectly maintained and the whole ship was spotlessly clean.

The entertainment was fantastic and there were lots of great choices for having an after dinner cocktail. I love the fact that Cunard are a little more formal in their dress code but at no time did it feel stuffy - this is how cruising should be done!! I would highly recommend the ship & the cruise line.
