Summary: This and Queen Victoria are the best ships we have ever cruised on, the waiters are excellent (I have a problem with cheese, chocolate and orange, but can usually work my way around a menu) and they were very good in telling me that a particular dish had cheese. The food everywhere was wonderful. The cabin was excellent as were the stewards, the entertainment.and the Queens Room where we enjoyed our "afternoon Tea" and our nightly dance was just superb.

But I do agree with the gentleman re. the extra 15% on drinks etc. As everything is supposed to be "duty free" but Cunard is not the only line who does this most lines impose the extra 10-15% on drinks and yes I only want to tip the people who have done me a service, Having said that we still think that Cunard is the best line we've ever sailed on. And no, we do not have shares in the line!

Summary: Just returned from 8 day transatlantic cruise to New York. The ship is a five star floating hotel, one member of staff to every two passengers. The service is flawless, friendly and diligent. Food really five star especially in the Britannia restaurant, the main waiter served dining room.

The ship is characterised by old world grandeur,l ike a floating palace. The crossing was difficult with gales and massive waves such as I have never seen, the ship coped poorly with this, difficult to walk around the ship, wife and I both seasick, but tablets helped. We are told that the Queen Mary is a true ocean going liner and is smoother in rough weather.
