Royal Caribbean Cruises - Project Genesis

Royal Caribbean to launch new superliner, Project Genesis, in 2009.

Royal Caribbean Cruises - Project Genesis

Royal Caribbean is not a cruise line that can be accused of lacking innovation and creativity. And there is no greater proof of this than with the forthcoming Royal Caribbean superliner Project Genesis. Due to begin service in late 2009 Royal Caribbean promise to provide customers with more choice, more amenities and far more “WOW” experiences.

When she launches Project Genesis will be the largest and undoubtedly the most revolutionary ship in the world. In all her grandeur she will span 16 decks, encompass 220,000 GRT, carry an amazing 5,400 guests and feature 2,700 exquisite staterooms.

Leading The Royal Caribbean Evolution

Royal Caribbean is known for setting trends, breaking boundaries and introducing many cruise industry firsts. For example Royal Caribbean's 'Freedom Family' class include, Liberty of the Seas, Freedom of the Seas and Independence of the Seas all of which have broken the mould with innovative features such as, Ice skating rinks, Rock climbing walls and of course wave machines. Project Genesis will feature more of the same forward thinking of which this brand has become famous.

Project Genesis: Move into a New Neighbourhood

Project Genesis will introduce an entirely new approach to cruise ship design and layout. Royal Caribbean will introduce several on board neighbourhoods. Each of these 7 areas will feature different atmospheres and themes making them unique from each other and allow passengers the opportunity to seek out relevant experiences based on their personal style, preference or mood.

One of these amazing neighbourhoods will be the aptly named 'Central Park'. Located on Deck 8, Central Park will encompass a revolutionary design in which the center of the ship opens up to the sky and features lush, tropical grounds spanning the length of a football pitch. The unique outdoor space will feature pathways and a chance to see rare fauna arranged in seasonaly flowering gardens with canopy trees. During the day this will be the perfect location for a little Al Fresco dining and by night it will become the venue for guest to enjoy concerts and street performances. Several bars, restaurants and boutique shops will be located around the park adding to that Town Square feel. you can feast on Italian cuisine from Giovanni’s Table, sample fine wines from Vintages wine bar or treat yourself to a hearty steak at Royal Caribbean’s signature restaurant Chops Grille Steakhouse. The Rising Tide bar will be on hand to offer those on cruise holidays a really ‘moving’ experience. In a feat of mind boggling mechanics this bar, spanning 3 decks, will allow cruiser's to enjoy a cocktail as they gently ascend into Central Park and then descend back into the public spaces below. Wherever and whenever you choose to dine or enjoy a drink onboard Project Genesis it will be set within the most glourious and unique surroundings.

Project Genesis Unique Views

Royal Caribbean Cruises - Project Genesis - Central Park Accommodation onboard Project Genesis will include the chance to appreciate the beauty of Central Park from a birds-eye perspective. There will be an amazing 334 ‘park view’ staterooms overlooking Central Park, of which 254 will have balconies from which to passengers can admire the view. This novel approach will, for the first time, offer a real alternative to traditional and highly sought sea view cabins.

Of course with a ship of this scale you will also be able to enjoy a wealth of Royal Caribbean's brand of entertainment, relaxation and activity options that will be sure to cater for whatever mood you find yourself in.

Project Genesis promises to be a testament to modern engineering, cutting edge design and in true Royal Caribbean style an evolutionary cruise ship.
