Named by Her Majesty the Queen and designed specifically for British passengers, P&O Cruises Britannia won ''Best New Ocean Ship'' at the Cruise International Awards 2015. Setting sail on a wide range of itineraries, you can visit Europe, the Mediterranean, the Fjords & Norway, the Canary Islands / Azores, Transatlantic, the Caribbean, Northern Europe and North America all on this same ship.

The spectacular 3 tier atrium is the centrepiece of the ship, with the largest shopping area of all of the P&O fleet. Guests can enjoy a magnificent million pound floating art collection on display throughout.

Britannia has a capacity of 3,647 passengers who can enjoy the facilities on 15 public decks. All of the outside cabins have balconies and in response to the increasing number of solo travellers, Britannia has 15 single balcony cabins and 12 single inside cabins.

Designed with wow factors in mind, this ship is a great setting for unforgettable memories.

Cuisine and Dining on Britannia

Speciality Dining: Onboard there is a wide array of eating options including three main signature restaurants. You can choose between freedom dining at the Peninsular and Meridian– where you can choose when you eat each day as you please or club dining at Oriental restaurant, where you will enjoy the same company at the same table each evening. For the wine enthusiasts, visit The Glass House for the perfect wine match for each course as selected by celebrity wine expert Olly Smith and drink in those sea views.

Casual Dining: Whether fine dining suits you or you are looking for something more casual, there are plenty of other options available including Grab and Go for pre-packed meals or the Lido Grill for classics such as freshly baked pizza. Another tempting idea is afternoon tea, served daily in the main restaurants- pop along for some tea or coffee and the all-important clotted cream and jam scone.

Entertainment on Britannia

Headliners Theatre: A truly unique and immersive experience, the Headliners Theatre is like no other on a cruise ship. Using the latest technology and LED screen wall, it changes the scenery of fantastic productions in the blink of an eye. Examples of screenings on offer include The Sound of the Underground - a fantasy ride on the tube which takes a trip around the UK saluting cultures, music and history.

The Live Lounge: A great place for entertainment for all of the family, you'll find late night comedy, singers and tribute acts for all-time greats such as The Beatles, Madness and Take That.

The Limelight Club: P&O's first adults only venue - where you can look forward to great food, performers and late-night dancing- a feast for all the senses!

The Studio: A multi-purpose, state-of-the-art facility hosting everything from talks, cookery demos, films and game shows.

The Crystal Room: If you love dancing, this is your time to shine at the glittering evening balls in the evenings and dance lessons during the day!

Deck Shows: Another new feature for P&O cruises; get ready for an explosion of light, colour and sound, all while relaxing under the stars.

Activities for Adults

Sea Day Activities: A wide range of activities available from sports tournaments, fitness classes, quizzes, guest speakers, craft classes, cinema screenings, bridge classes, deck quoits and shuffleboard.

The Cookery Club: A deliciously unique innovation, you can create your very own culinary masterpieces here under the guidance of the best in the business, including renowned British chef James Martin.

Dance Classes: Taking place on all cruises with 7 or more days at sea, learn a variety of dances from ballroom to Latin all included in the price.

Pool and Loungers: Whether you want a casual swim or relax in the hydrotherapy pool or on the sun loungers, there are plenty of places to take a dip.

Family and Kids Clubs

The Reef: There are several age-specific clubs organised by the well qualified Reef Rangers, to keep children safely entertained throughout the day and evening to take the stress out of family holidays. Activities include games and sport coaching sessions.

Night Nursery: Open from 6pm to 2am nightly, this complimentary service is available for all children aged between six months and four years of age where parents are contacted via a pager.

Family Pools and Teen Deck: There are two pools perfect for families - Riviera and Lido. There is another pool for children up to eight years with button activated water cannons. Additionally, there is a dedicated sun deck and pool just for teens to hang out with their new friends.

Sports Arena: A full sized sports court offers a range of equipment for playing Britain’s best-loved sports including cricket, football and short tennis. Other sports you can enjoy onboard include darts and table tennis.

Spa & Fitness on Britannia

Oasis Spa: Putting the aah in spa. Embark on your own personal rejuvenation journey as you explore heated loungers, therapeutic saunas, steam grottos, waterbeds and a hydrotherapy pool in the hydrotherapy suite. Order champagne and chocolate dipped strawberries at the Oasis villa and take a dip in your private whirlpool spa. Pamper yourself with Foot Therapy or get a makeover in the salon. Black Tie event upcoming? No problem, the blow-out, lash and brow bar will leave you looking glamourous.

The Retreat: This alfresco spa terrace has it all. By day, sit back and relax on one of the inviting shaded cabanas or indulge in a treatment. By night, enjoy its soft, twinkling lights and a glass of bubbly beneath the stars.

Serenity Pool and Bar: A dedicated space for peace and quiet; take a dip, order your favourite drink and relax!

Dress Code on Britannia

Dependent on the event or venue, this ranges from evening casual or Black Tie where glamourous ball gowns and James Bond style dinner jackets bring a real sense of occasion for the evening. No dress? The host of onboard shopping can assist. To help you with your packing, your full itinerary will let you know how many nights of each dress code you have so you are never left underdressed.
