a really great trip. a bit rough avoiding the big storm but we went south and around it without too much bother. the crew were fantastic and the ports were a great eyeopener, lovely people, great towns and cities, jaw dropping scenery and wonderful table companions each evening, it will take some trip to beat that one, well done to one and all, from the booking to the disembarking.. k.barry

Just a weekend cruise, but we had taken along several friends who had not cruised before. Sorry P&O, but you really need to up your game. Food mediocre, ship dated - but worst of all - entertainment! You've got to be joking if this is OK. Activities staff who just couldn't be bothered, tatty theatre set, lazy dancers, and as for watching 2 members of staff playing noughts and crosses....! Oh dear, you've just lost 8 potential new customers.

Had a wonderful time! Right from your advice, to all the booking, our cabin, the itinerary etc. Balcony was a delight, food and entertainment on board were excellent and we opted for self service food the whole time so no dinner jackets or posh dressing up. Suited us fine. Thank you so much.

In general this cruise was well organised and enjoyable. The outstanding positive part of the time spent on board was the professionalism, friendliness and helpfulness of staff. There were some issues which were of concern to me. The charge for wi-fi is exorbitant. The main means of keeping contact with friends and family nowadays is by Email. A charge of minimum just under £100 is unjustified. Food In the free dining restaurant was not of the standard I expected. A main course flooded with ubiquitous gravy is not fine dining. On special evenings the presentation was excellent and this should be the case for every meal. Information regarding St Petersburg’s was not accurate. I was aware of visa restrictions but also aware that local firms had resources to provide the 72 hour arrangements to tour the city. This was denied by tour office staff on board. The message given was that no one could leave the ship unless on a P&O tour. The entertainments officers worked hard to involve passengers but the general standard of evening entertainment was amateurish. This did not cause me concern as I enjoyed strolling on deck and joining friends for a post,dinner drink in one of the pleasant quiet bars and lounges.

Overall cruise was very good, had a couple of issues with the cleanliness of our cabin, it was very dusty, all draw handle had a layer of dust on which I did remove myself, the shower curtain had a very large stain on and a couple of times during the cruise we had black water in the toilet and when filling the bath the water went black when the next door cabin flushed their toilet this was reported to reception and a plumber came to the room but did not solve the problem. One member of my family has special dietary needs and we were told before we went that the choice for Gluten free etc was very good and they cater for every need but we didn’t find this the selection was very poor and on some occasions there was no choice on the menu for puddings. So my family member ended up have basically the same meal every day which made meal times hard. The food was the rest of my family was excellent and we would give that 10 out of 10 and more. We did very good excursion apart from the water park in Tenerife, the trip didn’t leave until 10 which in our opinion was too late as when we got there it was very busy and only ended going on one ride, so it was a lot of money for not a very good day, this trip needs to be reviewed and timings need to be change. All other trips we did were excellent.The ship is looking a bit tired in parts especially the cabins but all public areas are good. All staff were brilliant and very friendly.

Enjoyed cruise but some areas of ship are a little tired. It is due a refit and will then be an adults only ship. On this Canary Islands cruise there was diversity of age groups which was nice. I have previously experienced cruising on an adults only ship and it was like being in a retirement home at sea. Once the Aurora is adults only it will be a ship for me to avoid. I did not think the variety of food available in the buffet was as good as what I have come to expect from P and O but found the food quality and variety in the club dining room very good. Waiter service excellent. P and O now charge for room service except for breakfast which is still complementary. My inside cabin was of a good size and my steward very good. The evening entertainment was generally good. Embarkation at Southampton was slick and I was in my cabin within 25 minutes of arriving at the terminal. I can not comment on disembarkation as I wheeled my own case off the ship.

Had a wonderful time on Aurora. Once again Iglu were spot on eith their service. Keep up the good work fuys.

Great holiday, fantastic staff and service. The entertainment was fabulous, particularly Tucker, Triptonic and The magician. The food was very good. The shuttle bus was expensive especially as some days we only travelled a very short distance. The ship could've provided more information on local taxi fares to popular tourist spots so we didn't get ripped off. All in all an excellent holiday.

Enjoyed itinerary, weather very good. But, ship a bit shabby.
