P&O Arcadia Reviews

I experienced the most brilliant holiday in Feb 2013 for my first cruise on the Arcadia. I wanted a fly/cruise for a sector cruise from Santiago to Bris Aust. It was amazing!!!! Love the Arcadia, the staff and divine food simply the best. Will take another cruise on the Arcadia again hopefully nxt year. 11 out of 10 - Well done P&O for a magic ship Arcadia. Maree

Just returned from a cruise on Arcadia to the Canaries. The ship was lovely, light pleasant decor great theatre, screening room was really handy and comfortable, and lots of bars. The restaurant was on two levels and the decor was very nice and the cabins were spacious with a huge bed and every comfort was provided. We had excellent food, wonderful service, didn't meet one grumpy member of staff — everyone was obliging and very friendly. The entertainment team were great and the shows with the Headline theatre company were well dressed, great sets and blessed with young and talented performers. Bobby Crush delighted us with his wonderful piano playing on two nights. Bobby Knut made us all laugh for two nights and Philip Brown sang delightfully. I came home with 5 lovely greeting cards made in Tricia Mcnallys craft class with help from Jane, a really pleasant hour spent on sea days and it was nice to learn a new craft. The excursions were very good and the logistics of disembarking for them was easy and without the usual hassle. We had to use the medical facility and again it was well equipped and the staff were very professional and very pleasant. If you have the misfortune to fall ill on Arcadia you will be very well looked after. All in all we had a wonderful holiday, miss Arcadia already and hope to board her again in the future.

We spent 12 nights on the Arcadia. A very impressive ship to look at. The decor inside the ship was to a high standard, with an impressive dining room on 2 floors. The theatre was quite big and very comfortable. The bedroom was a good size, with a settee and table included. The bed was huge and so comfortable - usually we have aching backs when away on holiday. There were so many pieces of art all over the ship to satisfy all tastes. The food was to a high standard and was available at all times in various places. We found that most members of staff were helpful and cheerful, willing to help in any way.

Hello ,just to thank you for a very smooth operation by yourselves at providing all the information we needed and the up-grades we did not expect for the price we paid. Although you may not be aware of some of these up-grades, you are dealing with the companies that have provided them, namely Thomson (First Choise) Airways, P&O Cruises, Holiday Extras, to name a few, and your very polite staff who dealt with my difficulties on the internet, my not being able to print my wifes E TICKET, and sending me one in the post just before time. Unfortunately the second week was spoilt by the outbreak of the NORO-Virus which affects the whole operations of things,which no doubt you are aware of ,having heard of this on other ships lately.Many thanks to you again, and hope to book with you again, many more passengers know about you now after our comments to them, bye bye.

Just returned from our first cruise. This was from Southampton to Maderia then across the Atlantic to Antigua, St. Maarten, St. Lucia and Barbados, flying back to the UK. Very calm across the Bay of Biscay, force 8 one day transalantic, but not any problems with seasickness. Cabin was on A deck with an outside balcony, which we spent time on every afternoon, well worth having. Having read some very negative reviews before we went it took away some of the excitement of our first cruise. However, we had a great time, and found nothing to complain about. The food, service, staff and the ship were extremely good. We went with two friends, who feel the same as we do. We guess some people just love to complain.

 We have sailed with PO many times and been happy with the holidays taken. This one was an exception we had an outside cabin the size was fine as there were three of us, however we had 6 sleepless nights due to noise below us presumably where staff were working, we complained and felt we were banging our heads against a brick wall we did not feel our complaint was being taken seriously but at 2am on the 6th night a member of crew was again in our cabin when the crashing of glass being broken was again occurring. We were then moved to another cabin on a higher deck and enjoyed the remainder of the holiday. The food was excellent nothing was too much trouble for our waiters. The entertainment was good. Of course good weather makes for enjoyment too. Deck games were well organised and everyone involved extremely friendly. 

We have sailed in the past with P&O Cruises on Oriana, however Arcadia far outweighed Oriana. We had an outside cabin which was very nice however for the first six nights were unable to sleep well as there was a lot of noise coming from below our cabin. We complained to reception on several occassions and eventually we were moved to a higher deck. The food was of a high standard and the waiters were exceptional — our daughter celebrated her 21st birthday and I think almost every waiter in the restaurant joined in to sing Happy Birthday. The cake they made for her was really nice. Entertainment was good in the theatre. Good deck games and really friendly staff.
