March is always a huge month for the UK cruise industry, as it sees the release of new itineraries and plans for the 2008 summer cruise season. It’s always an exciting time to hear who’s doing what and where, as every year there’s a whole host of exciting new places to be visited.

One of the most exciting developments is the news that Royal Caribbean will be sailing its brand new 3600+ passanger freedom class ship, The Independence of the Seas out of Southampton in 2008. Boasting a surfing simulator, water park, an ice-skating rink, a rock-climbing wall and a boxing ring, never before has such a ship been based out of the UK!
