Royal Caribbean's New Year's resolution

Many New Year's resolutions involve losing weight, or leading a healthier lifestyle. Now, Royal Caribbean looks ready to help make those resolutions stick, with a New Year pledge of its own.

The cruise line has announced that it is making the move to give guests healthier food by phasing out the trans-fat from its menus.

From March, the cruise line will begin heading towards the trans-fat-free menus it has its sights set on for the end of the year. Out goes pour-and-fry oil that uses hydrogenated vegetable oils, and in comes trans-fat-free frying oil.

The cruise line says the move is in line with what its guests want, as consumers continue to look for healthy options at home, in the workplace and on their holidays.

"Our guests are more active, health-conscious cruisers," says Michael Bayley, senior vice president, Total Guest Satisfaction.

So there's no excuse for not continuing with that detox programme, even while enjoying yourself!
