Having been on both OV ships and the final voyage of OV in Oct 2010, I wish Carnival would bring them back. The name is still active on the internet so still exists. We went on Fred Olsen to the Caribbean in Dec 2011 and it did not compare with OV. OK the OV ships were looking tired but so was the Braemar. Too much getting dressed up and being told what to wear and where on the Braemar. The OV was an exciting adventure and the staff were great and Captain Charlie Carr was the best we have met, but of course he is a northener, more sociable in every way!!! The Braemar is ok if you want to spend all day in the library reading up to win the quiz every night!!! Can do that at home. Please lets see OV back on the cruise scene in the not-to-distant future and while I'm still young enough (67) to enjoy it. Brenda Titterton, Sheffield

Palma Mallorca to The Caribbean From the moment we stepped onto the ship the magic started. The staff can't do enough for you, we made some really good friends onboard, the evening entertainment is great, but sometimes we just got a load of goodies and watched the latest movies in bed, the food is so good you just want to eat everything. Loved waking up to somewhere different everyday, this was our first Cruise and we only want to do Cruises now. We highly recommend this ship, best holiday ever.

(Staff Review) I enjoyed a 7 night cruise in Greece & Turkey departing from Crete a couple of weeks ago. The ship is quite smart and the cabins are spacious and comfortable. Food was buffet style and catered for the British market offering cooked breakfast and each night a wide choice including a pie, roast dinner, curry and a selection of traditional British dishes as well as a themed night (oriental, Indian, Greek etc). Prices on board were very good value and lower than UK - under £3 for a pint of Stella, wine from £13 a bottle and cocktails from £3.80! Entertainment was good fun and included tribute bands and music - the cabaret lounge even showed premiership matches - which was great. I usually prefer a more formal ship and aren't bothered about getting British style food - but the cruise ship was a fantastic base for exploring the Greek islands and Istanbul & Turkey. I only wanted a short holiday and it was great for a superb value 7 night break. Check out was very well organised too.

We received good courteous care from all staff aboard. The selection of food was wide and well presented. Our cabin, which was an interior stateroom, was spacious and well set out. The entertainment offered was unexpectedly excellent! The Caribbean lived up to expectations, despite some rain! The ship was spotless and well run. Our only complaint was that many passengers were disappointed with the lack of dancing available, either ballroom or disco. With the wide age range of travellers it was felt this was distinctly lacking. Definitely a super holiday! Would love to go again.

The service and food was very good, especially La Luna. The staff were always willing to help and were very pleasant. The entertainment, however, has not changed since our last trip on Ocean Village one.

It was my first cruise and all I can say is that I will definitely recommend this to my friends and I will look forward to coming back again. Great food, casual/informal cruise style, great for all ages including children and a lot to do and to discover. Thank you so much for the great time.

Everything possible was provided from entertainment to excursions. Amenities were top class & the food superb. The crew & staff were friendly & helpful. This was our first cruise & we are now 'hooked' & looking forward to our next one. The only disgruntled members of the family were our dogs who were not allowed to come with us!

Nice ship, food and service were excellent. The staff and crew as with any cruise cant do enough for you. The only two down sides is there isn’t a bar were they do not allow children so you can get away for a while for a quiet drink. Also the action ashore team try to hard selling shore excursions, and do not give you enough information on doing your own thing, they tended to discourage going it alone, apart from that everything was great,

I had a wonderful time and it was so relaxing. The staff were always smiling and always willing to help you. It was a lovely clean ship with lovely food 24/7. The entertainment was also good. I just cannot fault the holiday and I’ll definitely book again.

The ship, cabins and crew were excellent and all the all staff were great. I can say no more than that, except we also cruised on Ocean Village and that was just as good. I am going on a Caribbean cruise in November and I am enquiring about a cruise for my anniversary next September, I cannot say better than that.
