Norwegian Jade Reviews
View Cruise DealsIt was wonderful experience overall. I would like to extend our thank specially to Paul (Cabin) and Niomee (Restaurant) for being professional - I wish them very best.
Very nice atmosphere staff and service .my cabin crew done a very good job 👏 the show excellent, value for money place to sat and eat more than enough. We will be back on board
The ship was not as nice as the Spirit and The Star. What really stood out was the difference in The Atrium - it is really poor on the Jade. The biggest thing that spoilt the cruise for me was that I wanted to sit on deck in the sun, reading my book and listening to the sea. This is a big thing for me on a cruise. However the quiet deck was not in use (and no not because of the wind) and anywhere within distance of the pool deck had music blasting out all the time. Even when a band, etc. was not playing, the music was still too loud. So much to hearing the sea! Even indoors there were no places to go and be peaceful apart from the library. It seemed like peace and quiet was something that shouldn't happen. I also noticed a big difference in the reduction of choice of food in the buffet restaurant and food was often cold. The salad bar was atrocious in comparison to what it used to be like and even things like cereal choices were a lot poorer. The entertainment in the different bars was also not good. Some people were actually laughing at the performers (not to their face of course), but seriously, it was like a strangles cat at times. My cabin was personally bad for me because the air conditioning was far more aggressive than it has been in the past and although you could control temperature, you couldn't control power. I have very dry eyes and I seriously suffered when in the cabin. All in all, the cruise was a huge disappointment to both of us.
Great cruise - so glad to be out and travelling again. Entry into Israel was a nightmare but the rest of the cruise went very smoothly. Norwegian Jade was showing its age a little even though it has been refurbished. Food not as good as it used to be except in specialty restaurants. The care for solo travellers was as good as ever.
We have been on 8 NCL cruises before and previously on Jade too. This felt like 'end of season' with not enough effort in it. The most enthusiasm was from the Future cruise sales team. Menus were indifferent, often repetitive, very much 'chicken in breadcrumbs' style.and often cold. If this was our first NCL we would not be going back. The service was always good, though the crew seemed distracted, often seen having discussions about uncertainties around their next cruise, leave, and getting ashore for the trips.. The shows we went to were poor and so we stopped bothering too, like the rest of them. All in all it felt everyone was 'going through the motions'. We have Prima in September with a QM2 Cunard FCC package. But for that last we would cancel. NCL felt dated and off the ball.
We very much enjoyed our cruise on Norwegian Jade. The Ports of Call were excellent. We did not do any shore excursion because it was easy enough to go ashore under our own steam. The food in all of the restaurants was mostly excellent. We found the breakfast in the buffet a little lacking compared to other ships but could still find something to eat. The entertainment was very good. The staff were probably the best we have had on cruises and we have been on nearly 20 cruises. In all positions they were a delight to speak to, polite, friendly and attentive. We would happily go on a NCL cruise again. The only issue we had was with the flights - the outbound flight was booked with 23 kgs but the return flight was booked with only 15 kgs by NCL. IGLU stepped in to arrange additional 8Kgs each for us to make up the difference which was very good of IGLU to do. Unfortunately it was as cabin rather than checked in luggage that meant we had to carry 4 bags with us around the airport and onto the plane (Sky Express would not let us check them in). There were several couples at the airport who were unaware of the lower return weight and were having to pay excess baggage fees of around 100euros. NCL need to ensure both outbound and return flights have the same luggage allowance.
Good staff, ease of boarding and disembarking. Staff are very good helping with any problems. An abundance of different food.
Very good overall but not quite what we envisaged our holiday to be. We like a nice steady holiday at a fair pace but felt the holiday was a bit hectic and not what we have had on previous cruises we have been. It was described as freestyle but felt like it was a free for all. We wanted a little quieter and more relaxing atmosphere with out having to get of the ship. The ship and staff we could not fault - it was the whole theme of the holiday which it wasn’t for us.
I took my 90 year old Mother on this cruise who uses a wheelchair most of the time, and the cruise was excellent. We couldn’t fault anything about it and have left a deposit to go again in the next four years but I can’t wait that long. We we all inclusive so food was no problem, just a very high standard and all staff were so helpful throughout the ship. The air conditioning in the ship was a little too cold for me but that is the only comment to make. Thank you for a very memorable time especially with my Mum who was very impressed.
This was our first time on the Jade and my wife and I had a wonderful experience on board. The stateroom was lovely and the crew were very helpful. The entertainment was superb in the Theatre and in the bars. For the quiet drink after dinner I would recommend the Whisky Bar on deck 6 its an ideal spot to people watch.
