That was my first time on an NCL ship and I must say that it fully lived up not only to my expectations, but also to all the hype pre-launch. I loved the overall design of the ship. It may not be a beauty on the outside, but the slightly heavy handed exterior hides beautiful cabins (deluxe spa balcony cabins with an inbuilt jacuzzi are my faves) and an unrivalled array of dining options. We had an amazing meal at the Tappanyaki restaurant, where the cook and the waiters put on a show that was as impressive as the food itself. However, if I had to pinpoint the highlights, then they would have to be the water slides on the top deck (for the white knuckle ride try the green one) and Mandara Spa with the best saunas at sea.

I sailed on a two night promotional tour on the Norwegian Epic. The ship had loads of entertainment for my daughter, from rock climbing, to waterslides, bowling, bungee trampoline and dedicated play areas. There was always one activity or another for her to enjoy and she was thrilled. I found a wonderful retreat in the spa. Very relaxing and tranquil and an endless list of treatments. The gym is exceptional - very large and cool with state of the art equiptment and exercise rooms. Dinner is informal and 'freestyle' so we could eat when we wanted to each evening and plenty of entertainment on board to suit all tastes in the evening. All in all, the ship has a great combination for activities and facilities for a memorable family sailing experience.
