Azamara Cruises have announced plans to refurbish both Azamara Quest & Azamara Journey. Quest will enter drydock at the end of the year, with Journey due to follow suit in early 2013.
The ships will benefit from a facelift from the outside in. The hulls will be painted in dark blue, while inside the ships will benefit from new venues, new carpets, new upholstery and a new colour palette throughout. The pool is being resurfaced and there will be new sun loungers and pool towels onboard.
Azamara will boast a new champagne and caviar bar with the Aqualina specialty restaurant, as well as offering a new Chef's Table concept — which will feature three wine menus, one Italian, one French and a Californian menu. The casino bar will be expanded and will gain new furniture and the spa & fitness centre will benefit from a new steam room, new showers and new cardio equipment.
Azamara are taking their popular concept and just tweaking it to keep the cruise line moving forward and gives the ships a fresh lease of life. According to Edie Bornstein, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Sales for Azamara, the upgrades will: "better reflect the elegance onboard."
