before it sets sail on its first trip.
Celebrity Equinox will leave the city for the first time with paying passengers on board on July 31st for an eight-day cruise to the Norwegian Fjords, but many celebrations will take place before this adventure.
A pro-am croquet tournament has been planned on the ship's half-acre lawn on July 25th, while a Passenger Shipping Association dinner is scheduled for the following evening.
More than 5,000 travel agents, industry professionals and customers are expected to pay the ship a visit in the two-week period before its first trip.
Celebrity Cruises managing director Robin Shaw said: "The fact that the global launch of Celebrity Equinox takes place in the UK demonstrates the scale of the market we now represent.
"The launch celebrations will be great fun and will showcase to the industry of exactly what Celebrity Cruises is all about."
Celebrity Cruises labels its new ship as a "masterpiece", with passengers sure to experience a mix of fine dining and spacious staterooms.
