Silversea satisfies tech-savvy cruisers

Silversea Cruises has extended wireless access through its entire fleet of four luxury ships.

Tech-savvy voyagers can take advantage of Wi-Fi-enabled laptops and personal digital assistants (PDAs).

"Today's luxury travelers are often working professionals who travel with laptops and PDAs in tow and they appreciate being able to access the internet from anywhere on the ship," said Tim Rand, Silversea Cruises' Vice President of Information Technology and Chief Information Officer.

One of the most exciting developments in 21st century cruising is the expansion of communication facilities on ships.

Keen explorers can stay in contact with friends and family without neglecting their adventurous side.

It is no coincidence that Silversea Cruises is at the forefront of these new developments.

The line is an innovator, with recent developments including new ultra-luxury beds, while flat-screen TVs are planned for all suites.

Meanwhile, a study by BT Openzone recently found that 88 per cent of travellers require constant access to the internet.
