has announced that holidaymakers wishing to travel on shorter parts of the company's world tours can benefit from its "segment" cruises.
Furthermore, these segments can be combined to make so-called liner voyages of between 45 and 80 days in length compared to typical 107 day world cruises.
According to Princess Cruises
this method of cruising will benefit travellers who cannot commit to the full world tour length and have less time in which to take a cruise holiday.
"These new segments offer some great travel options for our passengers who have less available time, but who would still like a longer exotic adventure," commented Jan Swartz, Senior Vice President of Customer Service and Sales at Princess Cruises
Segment holidays include 35 days of cruising from Fort Lauderdale to Sydney, a 23-day sailing between Sydney and Hong Kong, a 22-day venture from Hong Kong to Dubai and a 27 day voyage from Dubai to Rome or Dover.
During the final leg, passengers can visit Salalah in Oman, the "wonders" of Egypt in Safaga and Port Said for Cairo.
