Royal Caribbean has revealed that Saturday Night Fever will be debuting on board the Liberty of the Seas. The West-End show is set to begin in April 2011 as part of the ships 'revitalisation'.
RCI's senior vice president, Lisa Bauer, said: "The debut of Saturday Night Fever the musical, created by Royal Caribbean Productions’ in house entertainment team, continues to raise the bar for cruise holidays on board one of our most innovative ships... Our award-winning musical productions have been so incredibly well-received by guests, first Hairspray on Oasis of the Seas, and then Chicago on Allure of the Seas... It’s only fitting we broaden the selection to include a West End hit as Liberty of the Seas embarks on its maiden season in Europe for summer 2011."
The Liberty of the Seas is under going a few changes from January 2011 to bring the ship closer to the Oasis Class ships in terms of its on board entertainment. The improvements include 3D films as part of a tie up with DreamWorks Animations. The ship will also be benefitting from 18.5 ft screens on deck and new venues such as Vintages Lounge and Cupcakes Cupboard.
