2010-03-15Regent Seven Seas Cruises unveils refurbishment plansRegent Seven Seas (RSSC) has announced plans to carry out major refurbishment work on its fleet of luxury cruise liners.
According to Cruise talk Central, the company plans to spend around $40 million on revamping the Seven Seas Voyager and Seven Seas Navigator.
RSSC president Mark Conroy said the enhancements would improve the onboard experience for guests.
"This comprehensive enhancement program will see each of the ships emerge essentially brand new and positions our fleet as the standard-bearer in the luxury cruise category," he added.
Plans include the creation of several new and exclusive dining areas, along with new wallpaper, carpets and light fixtures.
Some of the many destinations currently served by RSSC include Antarctica, Bermuda and the Caribbean.

2008-09-19Regent seven Seas scoops accommodation awardsRegent Seven Seas (RSSC) has scooped two prestigious awards for its top-class accommodation.
The cruise line was deemed to have the "best cabins" by the readers of both Conde Nast Traveller Magazine and Travel and Leisure Magazine.
Commenting on the awards, Regent Seven Seas president Mark Conroy said that the cruise line had "set the bar for luxury cruising".
"It is extremely gratifying to receive such recognition from the discerning readers of the country's top two consumer travel magazines," he added.
Passengers travelling onboard Regent Seven Seas vessels such as the Seven Seas Mariner and Seven Seas Voyager all benefit from having their own private balconies, walk-in wardrobes and marble-appointed bathrooms.
All Regent Seven Seasships are mid-size and the cruise line operates across all seven continents, including Antarctica.
Vessels owned by the cruise line also include the Seven Navigator and the stunning six-star Paul Gauguin.

2008-09-12Regent Seven Seas offers 'a touch of luxury' this winterRegent Seven Seas Cruises this winter can expect to embark on a number of "grand explorations".
From January to May 2009, Regent's two 700-guest sister vessels the Seven Seas Voyager and Seven Seas Mariner will visit more than 110 ports around the world, offering guests the opportunity to explore 50 countries across six continents.
Cruises range from 12 to 24 nights, with destinations including the South Pacific, New Zealand and Australia, Cruise Talk Central reports.
Mark Conroy, president of Regent Seven Seas Cruises, said the company had a history of offering passengers the most "exciting" itineraries and added that this winter was no exception.

Guests sailing with the line can now opt for a commemorative album through the SharedBook programme, which is being billed as a "first" in the luxury cruise segment.
"We originally piloted this programme on select sailings and are so pleased to be able to offer this unique offering now to all of our guests," said Sophie Vlessing, Vice-President of Guest Strategy and Marketing with Regent Seven Seas Cruises.
"Our partnership with SharedBook offers guests an innovative way to create a personalised commemorative album and re-live The Regent Experience for years to come."
Voyagers can enjoy a 36-page, professionally printed album in either a hard or a soft cover, which contains pictures of the ports of call, as well as information about the vessel, highlights of cruise activities and facts about the locations visited.
To personalise this unique offering, guests can intersperse these features with their own memories, individual anecdotes and private photos.
Meanwhile, Regent Seven Seas Cruises recently launched a wedding planning service as part of the Regent Travel Concierge scheme.

A personal wedding consultant will be on hand to explore the unlimited possibilities of a wedding or vow renewal with Regent Seven Seas Cruises.
Typically including a marriage certificate, wedding cake and champagne, the company is keen to point out that the types of ceremony on offer are as varied as the guests.
"The sky won't even be the limit - if a Regent guest wishes to get married in a hot air balloon over a tropical pineapple plantation, or take a helicopter to a glistening Alaskan glacier, we can do that," said Chris Scurr, Marketing Director for Royal Ocean Events.
Regent Seven Seas Cruises recently announced that four new Antarctica voyages will feature on its 2007-08 programme.
Due to overwhelming demand, the luxury cruise line will take passengers to the outer limits of the starkly beautiful continent.
Voyagers onboard Explorer II will visit the Falkland Islands and Port Stanley before heading to the Shetland Islands and the dramatic Antarctic Peninsula, before heading along Cape Horn, through Drake Passage and finally landing at Ushuaia.
Choosing from new departure dates of November 8th or 24th, December 20th 2007 and February 20th 2008, passengers can choose from 10 or 16-night cruises.
"We have seen such a strong demand for Antarctica as a destination that our initial two charters quickly sold out," said Mark Conroy, Regent Seven Seas Cruises' President.
