Popular television personality Liz Smith has recently embarked on her first cruise holiday as part of a new television programme to be aired on BBC FOUR.
The 87-year-old is probably best known for her roles in The Royle Family and The Vicar of Dibley but has drifted out of her comfort zone to head on a luxury cruise.
She completed the documentary as part of the BBC's Grey Expectations series, exploring what can be achieved by people once they pass the age of 60.
Liz Smith's Summer Cruise starts from her sheltered accommodation and ends with a ten-day trip taking in locations such as Croatia and Venice, the latter of which she was visiting for the first time.
The programme gives a touching overview of the actress' life and the BBC highlights that she said: "It didn't bother me that the camera was always present, I'm used to it, but it was the travel that interested me." P&O Cruises
are one of a number of liners that provide the opportunity for people to enjoy a vessel trip to Venice, alongside other locations in the Mediterranean.
