Royal Caribbean Cruises to set off from New Orleans

Date Posted: 10 May 2010
Royal Caribbean has announced that it will add New Orleans to its roster of destinations from next year.

The company has confirmed that Voyager of the Seas will depart from the city through the 2011-12 winter Caribbean season, stopping off at a number of exotic locations.

Betsy O'Rourke, senior vice president of marketing at Royal Caribbean International, stressed the importance of having journeys start in the city.

She said: "With our return to New Orleans in winter 2011, Royal Caribbean will offer three vibrant and convenient Gulf Coast cities to embark on a memorable family vacation or winter getaway.

"Throughout, all guests will enjoy the Royal treatment, delivered by every member of our renowned friendly and engaging staff and crew."

Anyone setting off from New Orleans will have the opportunity to experience the year-round carnival atmosphere of the city and the delicious food it has to offer.

Meanwhile, once aboard Voyager of the Seas, facilities include an ice-skating rink, a nine-hole mini-golf course and a full-size basketball court.
