A record number of ships has been deployed by Royal Caribbean Cruises
to serve the fast-growing European market during the 2011 season.
The cruise operator announced that ten ships will be dedicated to the market up from the current ten, its biggest ever European deployment covering the Baltic and Mediterranean waters.
Cruise lovers will have the choice of 109 unique itineraries, ranging from three to 15 nights, with stops in 27 countries and 78 ports.
Among the ships that will be serving the region are Liberty of the Seas
and Grandeur of the Seas
, which will kick off their maiden Europe seasons from the Spanish designations of Barcelona and Palma de Mallorca respectively.
"Vacationers will have the widest selection of Europe's largest and most innovative cruise ships with Royal Caribbean in 2011," said Betsy O'Rourke, senior vice president of marketing.
He added that the four classes of ships will "appeal to a wide range of vacationers from couples seeking the romance of Europe to multigenerational family vacations".
The Passenger Shipping Association recently predicted 1.75 million British cruise holidays in 2011, up from 2010's 1.65 million.
