Couples thinking about tying the knot on board a cruise ship have been told that they should do some research into the vessel of their choosing to ensure no disappointment is felt.
Writing for the Daily Telegraph, Jane Archer suggests that a ship from Princess Cruises
is the ultimate in terms of romance and was one of the instigators in allowing people to get married at sea.
She highlights that the cruise liner will take on the responsibility of organising all of the elements of the big day, while family and friends can also climb on board to enjoy the occasion.
Ms Archer also indicates that couples should carefully select the moment they get married and the destination to which their ship will sail.
She said: "Just remember to organise the wedding at the start of the cruise, as that way you get a honeymoon as well.
"The Caribbean is the wedding hot spot, but Princess sails the world, so you could get hitched off South America, in the Baltic or while sailing the Mediterranean."
Princess Cruises has a large fleet of ships to choose from including the Star Princess
and the Ruby Princess
