has launched a new initiative to bring the romance back into cruising as well as the lives of its guests.
The new Department of Romance has been opened by the cruise line as part of the 30th anniversary celebrations of the classic TV show The Love Boat. On board the liners will be a number of promotions through the year, focused on the theme of romance.
"We consider the art of romance so integral to our passenger experience that it makes sense for us to dedicate an entire department to the cause," says Jan Swartz, Princess Senior Vice President.
The Department of Romance will be staffed by a team of four; Gavin MacLeod, former star of The Love Boat will be the Love and Romance Expert, dating industry veteran Trish McDermott will be the Romance and Dating Expert and the world-renowned Dr Ruth will be the Psychosexual Expert.
Completing the team will be Alba Carreras, Cruise Wedding Expert, in case the romance goes to the next step!
Special room service will be offered with champagne and chocolates, while Romance TV will keep the mood in the cabins just right. A section of the Princess website will be labelled Virtual Romance with tips and pointers, while the Daily Romance Advice aims to keep the romance revitalised on a day-to-day basis.
The Princess Cruises
department is set to debut on the Emerald Princess
later in the year.
