P&O reveals new shore excursions

Date Posted: 15 Apr 2009

P&O Cruises has announced a range of new shore excursions for guests to enjoy this year.

Among them is the chance to take a helicopter trip over the city of New York, visit a strawberry farm in Breton and drive a Ferrari through the streets of Rome.

Nigel Esdale, managing director of the cruise line, said the shore excursions would give passengers the opportunity to experience something extraordinary during their holiday.

"In a two week Mediterranean cruise they could have a private viewing of St Mark’s Basilica, handpick a diamond, go kayaking, cook an authentic French crepe and learn to flamenco dance," he commented.

P&O Cruises has also announced the addition of six new ports for 2010, including Newcastle and Belfast.

Meanwhile, TV chef Marco Pierre White will hold a number of cookery masterclasses on the cruise ship Ventura.
