Sailings for 2009 will be put on sale by P&O Cruises
later this month on April 29th 2008, it has been announced.
In a break from tradition, details of departure dates will be released over a six day period and will include a number of shorter voyages.
Other exciting new features for 2009 will include a circumnavigation of Britain, according to TravelMole, while the main news is the doubling of shorter, or "taster" cruises from P&O Cruises
"Cruise holidays are becoming an increasingly popular choice for younger couples and families and we have two ships within the fleet dedicated to serving this market in terms of length of holiday, destination, on board entertainment, facilities and dining and pricing," P&O Cruises managing director Nigel Esdale commented.
He added that shorter cruises on new cruise ship Ventura
and established cruise liner Oceana
could be the "perfect choice" for those who are new to cruising.
According to P&O Cruises
the introduction of Ventura
means that there will be a 30 per cent increase in the capacity for UK cruises.
