Passengers keep in touch on P&O Cruises

P&O Cruises has announced that it is about to get easier for families to keep in touch with loved ones while enjoying cruise holidays thanks to mobile technology.

The company has said that its Arcadia, Aurora and Oriana liners will all have a Global Systems Mobile (GSM) network activated onboard this month following a successful trial on cruise liner Oceana.

"Cruising is very sociable and our passengers love being able to talk to the people they are travelling with or to new friends made whilst on board," said Philip Price, head of brand marketing at P&O Cruises.

"Our ships are pretty big so this technology will make life on board even easier for our passengers."

P&O Cruises said that passengers have welcomed the initiative as it now allows them to keep their friends and family back home updated on all the fun cruise holidays involve.

Thanks to the new GSM networks onboard the Arcadia, Aurora, Oriana and Oceana liners, passengers will also be able to send picture messages and video clips from their mobiles to update friends and family with the latest action from their cruise holiday.
