Cruise company Ocean Village
has responded to requests from passengers to provide dance classes by introducing a new dance-fitness regime to its cruises.
Latin-inspired Zumba allows passengers to create an easy dance rhythm through a combination of six simple dance steps and was implemented on ships Ocean Village
and Ocean Village Two
after results from survey 'Murder on the Dancefloor' revealed that a quarter of Britons would like to improve their footwork on the dance floor by learning some easy moves.
Meanwhile, the study also revealed that 62 per cent of women would prefer to lose weight through dancing than by joining a gym.
"Now that we offer Zumba onboard our passengers can learn a few new dance steps and get really fit into the bargain," commented Nick Lighton, Managing Director of Ocean Village
He added that he expected take-up of the dance classes to surge in the coming week as television show Strictly Come Dancing has a "massive effect" on sign-up to dance classes
Other entertainment available onboard Ocean Village
cruises includes acrobatic shows such as Planet, taking place on Ocean Village Two
