Luxury cruise line Cunard
announced a unique collaboration alongside some of the world’s most highly acclaimed luxury brands.
The new partnership sees Cunard working with London landmark hotel, The Savoy and popular Tennessee whiskey brand Jack Daniel’s, to create a special barrel aged cocktail known as
- Age of Discovery.
The limited edition cocktail has been created by the mixologist experts of The Savoy’s world famous Beaufort Bar and will mature in a hand chosen 300 litre Jack Daniel’s barrel, enhancing the unique flavours inspired by Cunard’s travels.
Age of Discovery will debut onboard Cunard flagship Queen Mary 2
and join her for a four month world voyage departing January 2016. Inspired and influenced by the journey, the unique cocktail embodies the essence of destinations worldwide from Europe to Asia, the Americas and Oceania.
During the four month circumnavigation the first fill American oak barrel will be secured and positioned upon open deck space, to allow natural elements such as prevailing temperatures, humidity and sunlight to further enhance the flavour.
Speaking of the unique recipe Neil Donachie of the Beaufort Bar said “The Jack Daniels and Bacardi represent the discovery of the Americas, while the Dubonnet is there as a symbol of Cunard’s royal associations. The spice-infused Madeira, used to sweeten the cocktail, is synonymous with the famous spice trail and oceanic expeditions.”
