Norwegian Cruise Lines
(NCL) has unveiled its deployment plans for winter 2010/11 and said it will remain committed to the European market.
The Norwegian Jade will set sail from Barcelona and the Norwegian Gem
will be deployed from New York.
In addition, the cruise line will continue to offer sailings to the Caribbean from New Orleans, onboard the newly renovated Norwegian Spirit.
Commenting on the plans, Kevin Sheehan, NCL's president and chief executive, said: "Having Norwegian Jade homeported in Barcelona for the winter gives guests another option for exploring the many different ports in Europe, during a time of the year when it is less crowded and the weather is mild."
Basing the Norwegian Gem and Norwegian Jewel
in New York will also offer passengers more choice and enable them to escape the cold winters in style, he added.
Both vessels will offer a series of ten-day voyages to the Caribbean, with ports of call including Antigua and Puerto Rico.
In related news, NCL recently launched a new online check-in service.
