The Mariner of the Seas has arrived at the Port of Los Angeles, making it the largest-ever cruise shop to operate from America's West Coast.

Owned by Royal Caribbean Cruises, the 1,020-feet vessel will operate year-round voyages to the Mexican Riviera, calling at destinations including Carbo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and Mazatlan.

Commenting on the arrival of the ship in LA, Royal Caribbean president and chief executive Adam Goldstein said: "We are excited to be introducing one of the industry's most innovative ships to the West Coast giving more vacationers the opportunity to conveniently experience the Royal Caribbean difference."

Guests holidaying onboard Mariner of the Seas can enjoy a relaxing swim in one of the ship's six whirlpools or enjoy a treatment in the Mariner Day Spa.

In addition, the vessel is home to 16 themed bars and lounges, seven restaurants and a theatre.

Other ships in the Royal Caribbean fleet include the Voyager of the Seas and Navigator of the Seas.
