Holland America sets sail for Europe

Holland America Line ship the ms Westerdam has launched its 2007 Europe cruise season.

Voyagers can enjoy new staterooms, enhanced shopping facilities and the new Explorations Cafe, developed in conjunction with the New York Times.

"The recent additions are another example of how Holland America Line continues to unveil new and imaginative on-board activities, dining and ship renovations to provide an unparalleled experience for today's premium cruise guests," said Stein Kruse, President and Chief Executive Officer of the firm.

Holland America Line has pioneered a series of fleet developments known as Signature of Excellence, which was completed at the end of last year.

The ms Westerdam offers cruisers the chance to surf the net while sipping a latte in the new cafe, or shop until they drop in the vessel's unique jewellery store, the Merabella.

Meanwhile, new staterooms include flat-panel TVs and luxurious Mariner's Dream Beds.

"This ongoing commitment to quality and innovation is our Signature of Excellence," affirmed Mr Kruse.

In related Holland America Line news, the ms Eurodam was recently subject to a redesign that prioritised the creation of a soothing onboard environment.
