Holland America Line's
Pinnacle Grill restaurant has scooped a prestigious award.
The restaurant was honoured at Porthole Magazine's 2009 Editor-in-Chief Awards, winning the best alternative restaurant category.
Richard D Meadows, the cruise line's vice president of marketing, sales and guest programmes, said it was an honour to be recognised by the magazine.
"Although there are many alternative restaurants today, we have continued to ensure the quality of the Pinnacle Grill's dining experience stands out," he added.
Commenting on the restaurant, magazine editor Bill Panoff said the restaurant offered a level of sophistication that was "unmatched" anywhere on the seven seas.
In related news, Holland America Line has also announced plans to begin training its staff at a new culinary training centre in the Philippines.
