Royal Caribbean Cruises will be welcoming the latest addition to its European fleet, Independence of the Seas, ahead of schedule.

Work on the luxury cruise liner has been completed two weeks ahead of schedule meaning that guests can now book onto an additional two cruises with Independence of the Seas.

The two new sailings are a four-night cruise to Cork departing Southampton on May 2nd 2008 and an 11-night Canary Island cruise scheduled for May 6th 2008.

Independence of the Seas is scheduled to arrive in the UK on April 25th 2008 following her inaugural Nordic passage.

"The fact that this will be the first time we will have a [Royal Caribbean Cruises] new-build based in Europe is exciting news and now we have the fantastic confirmation that Independence of the Seas will be arriving two weeks earlier than anticipated," commented Jo Rzymowska, Managing Director of Royal Caribbean International, UK and Ireland.

The new cruise liner's arrival in the UK will see hundreds of travel agents and key industry figures as well as cruise passengers meet to celebrate the momentous occasion.
