Cunard announces 2010 world cruises

Date Posted: 09 Sep 2008
Luxury cruise provider Cunard has announced that two of its liners will be departing on world cruises in January 2010.

Those interested in travelling the world onboard a luxurious ship will have the opportunity to travel on the Queen Mary 2 or Queen Victoria, with both vessels setting sail around the same time.

According to Cruise Talk Central, the Queen Mary 2 will take an east-west route across the globe, with overnight stays in Hong Kong, Sydney and Cape Town, while the Queen Victoria sets sail on a 99-day voyage featuring 11 maiden ports of call.

Commenting on the news, Carol Marlow, president of Cunard Cruises, said: "On this pair of epic voyages, Cunard continues a storied tradition that began nearly 90 years ago.

"In 2010, Queen Mary 2and Queen Victoria will visit a combined 31 countries, 57 ports and 30 maiden calls, continuing our legacy of impeccable White Star Service, fine dining and unrivaled accommodations."

Meanwhile, Cunard Cruises'Queen Victoria liner was last week named as one of Britain's favourite ships in a poll by Cruise Critic.

Passengers were particularly impressed by the ship's stylish décor and traditional elegance.
