Holidaymakers looking to escape the freezing weather and credit crunch gloom may wish to consider a cruise.
According to the Passenger Shipping Association (PSA), cruises offer excellent value for money and are a great option for those looking to beat currency fluctuations and peg the price of their holiday in advance.
Penny Guy, a spokesperson for the PSA, commented: "By its inclusive nature, it offers exceptional value for money and is much easier to budget for. You have your accommodation, your meals, entertainment and the actual transport aspect, all included within the price."
Record numbers of people are opting for holidays at sea and, according to the PSA, figures are set to reach two million per year by 2012.
Speaking this week, Casia Zajac, head of marketing at the Association of British Travel Agents, said that holidays were part of people's lives and "still will be this year despite the economic downturn".
