Costa takes Serena to the Canaries

Date Posted: 16 Apr 2007
Costa Cruises is launching a new set of voyages to the Canary Islands with its newest ship, the Costa Serena.

The 11-night trips will start at Lanzarote, taking in the lush island of Tenerife as well as exotic locations further afield including Barcelona and Casablanca.

Lynn Torrent, President and Chief Executive Officer of Costa Cruise Lines in North America, comments: "For the traveller who is looking for a new and different winter vacation, our cruises to the Canary Islands aboard the Costa Serena provide an easy and affordable way to visit this incredible region."

Before setting off from Arecife, travellers can enjoy the thrilling volcanic landscape of Timanfaya National Park.

Upon reaching Tenerife, the island's bars and beaches offer visitors a much-needed dose of relaxation.

Features of the Costa Serena include one of the largest onboard spa facilities, Samsara Spa and two state of the art swimming pools with retractable magrodomes.

The ship's technical launch took place in Genoa during summer 2006.
