Costa Cruises offering tours around fleet

Date Posted: 14 Aug 2009
Four ships from the fleet of Costa Cruises are being paraded around parts of the UK to provide agents with the opportunity to expand upon their knowledge of the vessels and the industry as a whole.

The leading European cruise operator is set to host a number of ship visits during September in both Harwich and Dover.

Those attending the day's activities will get a tour around the ship, coffee in one of the on-board restaurants and the chance to listen to a one-hour presentation on developments at Costa Cruises.

The four ships in question are the Costa Atlantica, Costa Luminosa, Costa Magica and Costa Mediterranea.

Italian film director Federico Fellini has ties with the Costa Atlantica, as all of the decks on board the vessel are inspired by his movies.

The excursion ticket desk and the casino are on the La Dolce Vita deck, while the fitness centre is situated on the Ginger & Fred deck.

Ginger & Fred the film is in reference to Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire with the two leading characters being impersonators of the legendary stars.
