have commissioned a Fernando Botero bronze sculpture for the Costa Luminosa, the company's newest vessel.
According to Cruise Talk Central, the sculpture is currently being crafted at the Mariani foundry in Italy.
The sculpture will be installed in the Luminosa next year, taking centre stage in the ship's atrium.
Commenting on the commission, Pier Luigi Foschi, chairman and chief executive of Costa Crociere, said: "This particular sculpture by Botero has such expressive force and energy that it will interact with and influence the setting and interior design in the spectacular atrium of the ship where it is to be permanently exhibited."
Botero's sculpture - which depicts a lone woman - weighs 910 kgs and measures over 340 cm in length.
