Classical reception onboard QM2

Cunard Cruises is providing classical entertainment for passengers onboard Queen Mary 2 in the form of the Boston Symphony Chamber Players.

From September 2008, the troupe will travel onboard the cruise liner in order to perform and also present enrichment lectures for cruise holidaymakers.

The Boston Symphony Chamber Players have played regular concerts in Boston and have made appearances at Tanglewood, while also touring both nationally and internationally regularly.

"There is no better way to celebrate the partnership between the Boston Symphony Orchestra and Cunard Line
than for the Boston Symphony Chamber Players to perform their extraordinary music aboard the magnificent Queen Mary 2," Mark Volpe, managing director of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, commented.

He added that the players hope to add the performances on Queen Mary 2to their list of accomplishments.

President of Cunard Cruises Carol Marlow added that live classical music was a "hallmark" of Cunard tradition.
