Cruise lovers will be glad to hear that the world's largest and most innovative cruise ship will contribute to charity as part of a countdown to its launch in December. Royal Caribbean Cruises
has announced that it will host an inaugural celebration-fundraiser onboard Oasis of the Seas
when it officially names the ship on November 30th.
All proceeds from the sale of 1,000 of the ship's staterooms during the event will be donated to the charity Make-A-Wish Foundation, which helps children with life-threatening medical conditions.
"We hope that people across the nation will support the foundation by joining us for this special inaugural cruise celebration and fundraising effort," commented David Williams of Make-A-Wish Foundation.
An exclusive discount price will be given to guests who purchase the staterooms as the ship sails to the cruise line's private beach destination Labadee.
Oasis of the Seas, which is one of 20 ships operated by the line, is capable of carrying 5,400 passengers.
