Celebrity Equinox to 'soft launch' in July

Work on the Celebrity Equinox is proceeding so well that the ship will now embark on a short cruise in July, prior to its maiden voyage on August 8th, it has been revealed.

According to Celebrity Cruises, the Equinox will depart from Southampton on July 31st, on a roundtrip to the Norwegian Fjords.

The eight-night voyage will feature stops at Stavanger, Flam, Geiranger, and Oslo.

Meanwhile, the ship's ten-night maiden voyage in August will include visits to Barcelona, Lisbon, Normandy and Cherbourg.

"Guests on every sailing of Celebrity Equinox will experience the series of brand-defining, industry-first attributes that guests, travel agents and press have praised about Celebrity Solstice, including a half-acre Lawn Club with real grass, a glassblowing show and studio," Celebrity Cruises said.

The ship will also feature seven categories of accommodation, including the spa-inspired AquaClass staterooms.

Other ships operated by Celebrity include the Celebrity Galaxy and Celebrity Century.
