Celebrity Cruises welcomes the Celebrity Solstice

Leading cruise line Celebrity Cruises has taken delivery of its newest vessel, the Celebrity Solstice.

Celebrity Cruises welcomed the vessel earlier this week, with a traditional ceremony in the Netherlands.

The ship is now making its way across the Atlantic and is expected to arrive in Fort Lauderdale on November 3rd, ahead of its maiden voyage around the Caribbean.

Celebrity Cruises' president and chief executive Dan Hanrahan described the Solstice as the perfect manifestation of what the Celebrity brand is all about.

Company chairman Richard D Fain commented: "We are indebted to the countless, highly dedicated individuals who have brought this spectacular ship to this point and who have shared our passion for innovation and our dedication to excellence."

The ship will embark on its inaugral season on November 23rd, taking in destinations such as San Juan, St Maarten and St Kitts.
