has announced some news to light up the face of any cruise fan, revealing that they are expecting delivery of three new liners over the next four years.
Celebrity Solstice will be the first to be delivered in autumn 2008, a 118,000 tonne, 2,850 passenger liner. Two more of the same specification will follow in 2009 and 2010, Celebrity Equinox and an as yet unnamed third.
"Celebrity's Solstice class is more than a series of new ships; it's a new class introducing a new programme that will further differentiate and elevate the Celebrity brand," said Richard D Fain, chairman and chief executive officer.
"We're confident our guests and travel partners will be thrilled with the experience we'll deliver onboard."Celebrity Cruises
has entrusted Meyer Werft, the German shipbuilder, with the task of building the trio. Meyer Werft referred to the new ships as part of a "very exciting" growth period for Celebrity.
Larger standard staterooms, a higher percentage of balconies will join a further developed range of services and amenities to make the new Celebrity Cruises
liners something very special indeed.
