Celebrity Cruises have announced major changes to its Captains Club frequent cruiser programme to allow enhanced benefits for people who cruise with them the most.
The membership previously had four levels; Preview, Classic, Select and Elite. However, two new levels have now been added; Elite Plus and Zenith. These two new levels will add further benefits than Elite members have.
Previously cruisers earned one or two points for every cruise they took depending on the length of the sailing, however the new system will see one point awarded for each night spent onboard. This means people taking longer cruises will reach the higher membership levels quicker.
In addition to this, ten times as many points can be earned to those cruisers booked in suites.
Benefits of the new Elite Plus tier will include 200 minutes free internet and free espresso drinks throughout the cruise, and the Zenith level will include free laundry, a free premium drinks package and 1,600 minutes of free internet.
750 points are needed to reach Elite Plus status and 3000 for Zenith status.
Lee Moreau, Celebrity Cruises Director of Loyalty said ''At a time when many loyalty programs are cutting back on benefits or making it more difficult to redeem rewards, we're thrilled to do just the opposite. Guest loyalty is the cornerstone to any successful business, and that's why, at Celebrity Cruises, we make our guests the center of our attention. We hope this reinvigorated program will even more vividly show our guests how much we appreciate their loyalty, and allow us to welcome them back onboard even more frequently''.
