has announced plans to add 98 new balconies to existing staterooms aboard its Carnival Sensation vessel.
The modifications will take place during a 35-day dry dock stay in January 2009, according to Cruise Talk Central.
Improvements will also be made to the ship's existing balconies, in order to create a more spacious feel for passengers.
A number of other upgrades and additions will also be made, as part of the cruise line's multi-million-dollar enhancement programme.
As well as new balconies, the Carnival Sensation will also feature a new adults-only area called the Sanctuary and a WaterWorks Aqua Park.
The 2,052-passenger Carnival Sensation is a member of the cruise provider's Fun Ship fleet and operates across destinations including the Bahamas and Caribbean.
In other Carnival-related news, the cruise line earlier this week announced that the Carnival Fantasy
is to return to service after a 28-day dry dock stay.
