Carnival are the latest cruise line to join the all-inclusive drinks package brigade, following the likes of Royal Caribbean & MSC Cruises. If the trial run of the My Awesome Bar Program — currently running onboard Carnival Victory — is successful, the package could be rolled out to the entire Carnival fleet.
Though Carnival have been keeping this pilot scheme under the radar, they began offering the My Awesome Bar Programme earlier this month, which runs at $42.95 per person per day — plus, of course, the 15% gratuity. The all inclusive upgrade not only has a great name, but includes a wide variety of wine, beer and spirits, as well as sodas and non-alcoholic frozen cocktails.
All drinks included in the deal must be from items priced at $10 or lower to qualify. Though, should you fancy a good bottle of wine or some celebratory fizz, the package give you 25% discount. All passengers aged 21 years old and over staying in the same cabin have to purchase the deal — which has become common practice with these deals.
Are these packages good value? If cruising the Caribbean and enjoying cocktails or beers throughout the day is your thing, then they definitely are. You can easily spend over $40 a day onboard, so this takes away the stress of your end of cruise bar bill, as you'll know exactly how much you've spent.
