Caribbean Princess emerges after drydock upgrade

The Caribbean Princess has returned to the Princess Cruises fleet following an extensive three-week upgrade.

Caribbean Princess has now been fitted with a number of the cruise line's signature features, which include a piazza-style atrium with a street cafe atmosphere.

A number of new suites have been added, as well as a more centrally located casino and an adults-only Sanctuary area.

In addition, work has almost been completed on a new Crown Grill steak and seafood restaurant.

"We want to give passengers who sail aboard any of our large ships the opportunity to enjoy the innovative amenities that have become hallmarks of the Princess cruise experience," said Jan Swartz, executive vice president of Princess Cruises.

Other changes include a new Limelight boutique, internet cafe and library.

Established in 1965 with a single ship, Princess is now the world's third-largest cruise line and operates a fleet of 17 modern liners.
