P&O Cruises have revealed Britannia will offer the largest selection of British beers at sea.
Brodie's Great British Beer Menu on the line's new ship Britannia is set to feature over 70 different bottled beers, ales and ciders from 56 UK countries. Included on the menu will be exclusive ales, gluten-free beer, unique stouts and specialty beers including Chocolate Tom from Robinson's Brewery in Cheshire, Orange Peel from the Wadsworth Brewery in Wilsthire and Ginger Hale from Bath Ales in Somerset.
Experts from P&O Cruises have spent months finding the beers from all over the UK and have visited thousands of brewers from smaller, local ones to large, well-known ones. Some of the brewers visited included Windsor & Eton Brewery in Berkshire, Whitewater Brewery in Belfast and Hall & Woodhouse in Dorset.
The beers can be found in Brodie's which will have a classical pub decor and offer the perfect place to meet with friends and relax over a glass of beer. Named after one of the founders of P&O Cruises Brodie McGhie Wilcox, it will also be a venue to find live music, karaoke and quizzes.
Christopher Edgington, Marketing Director for P&O Cruises said "The UK boasts more breweries per head of population than any other country in the world with the industry growing at over 10% each year. This new beer menu celebrates the growing popularity of traditionally made British beers and ciders and reflects our aim of showcasing the very best that Britain has to offer."
Britannia is the biggest ship ever built for the British cruise market and will debut in March 2015. Sailing from Southampton on a range of Mediterranean itineraries, you can see our Britannia Cruise Deals here.
